4th of July in the Tawases

Celebrate 250 Years of America!
The Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the
Tawas Area 4th of July Parade & “Light Up the Bay” Fireworks Display.

 

    2026 Parade Information

    The 2026 4th of July parade will occur on Saturday, July 4th at 11am.

    The theme for the parade is “Party Like It’s 1776” 

    Recognition will be given for the float that best displays the theme.

    The parade begins at the corner of Newman and Lincoln St, travels towards US-23 where it takes a right, and continues into Tawas City, ending at Matthews St.

    The parade stretches 2.5 miles through the Tawases and includes over 100 vehicles.

    Please see the parade application for information on how to participate in the parade. Applications are due back to the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce by July 1st, 2026.

     “Light Up the Bay” Fireworks Display”

    July 4th, 2026 – 10:15pm

    Shoreline Park, Tawas City

     

    In 2021 The Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce put together a Fireworks Committee. This committee continues to fundraise money for the Independence Day Fireworks display year-round.  The committee has been successful in their fundraising efforts, and because of this, the budget for the Fireworks has doubled. The committee puts together many fundraisers throughout the year including a bounce house event,  event t-shirt sales,  5k Race & Walk, and direct sponsorships from the community.

    Event T-Shirt

     

    To help with the cost the committee is selling t-shirts again this year.  These t-shirts will have the new 2026 parade theme, “Party Like It’s 1776″.” They will also feature sponsors on the back.

    If your business would like to be sponsored on the shirt please see the sponsorship information below. The deadline to be on the shirt is April 30th.

    Summerfest 10k Run, 5k Run & Walk -July 11th, 2026

    The ”Light Up the Bay” committee along with Tawas Wellness Warriors will once again be hosting the Tawas Bay Sumerfest 5k/10k. Beginning  in 2025 the race will begin and end at The Collective in East Tawas.  Pre-registration for the Summerfest 5k Run and Walk is $30 and $20 for anyone 10 and under. The 10k registration ia $35, and $25 for anyone under the age of 10. Registration is available now.  Prices will increase for registration day before or day of.  Sign-up will take place online only through RunSignUp.com.  For inquiries regarding the race please email ahearnesean@gmail.com
